Steve Jobs"Your time is limited, so don't waste it living someone else's life. Don't be trapped by dogma - which is living with the results of other peoples thinking. Don't let the noise of others opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition, they somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary."

- Steve Jobs 2005, commencement address, Stanford University

We learned last night that Steve Jobs, Apple Inc. CEO, is again quite ill. I, along with millions of other concerned admirers, hope he can pull through this round of trouble like he did in 2003 when he was told pancreatic cancer would end his life in a few short months. His announcement this evening of a 6 month leave of absence from the Apple helm doesn't bode well.

Steve Jobs' vision has greatly influenced the way we view and use technology. I don't have many heros, or think it does anyone much good to put people on pedestals, but I admit that Steve Jobs has been an inspiration to me for many reasons. You can get a taste of why by taking 14 minutes to watch his 2005 Stanford Commencement address via this YouTube video.
